Managing Your Level of Influence

Defines the concept of influence, introduces theories and principles from leadership experts, and supports conversations to share how influence can be increased in the work environment.

 

Maintaining Professional Manners and Boundaries

Defines boundaries, reviews how to set and own them, and facilitates conversations about strategies for maintaining boundaries and addressing challenges.

 

Interviewing to Find "Best Fit" Candidates

Reviews the purpose and types of interviews, examines interview question design, outlines how to assess and compare candidates, and provides "dos and don’ts" to maintain defensible interview documentation. Discussions and practice interviews strengthen confidence and skill sets.


 

Documenting to Keep HR Happy

Outlines events when documentation should be created by Managers, explains documents to be retained by Managers vs. Human Resources, and includes time to practice writing and identifying appropriate documentation.


 

Managing Employee Engagement

Defines engagement, differentiates between turnover and engagement, includes theories and research on managerial actions to drive engagement, and encourages conversations about how managers can increase employee engagement.

Promoting Positive Employee Relations

Outlines Manager responsibilities in creating and supporting a positive employee relations environment. Establishes common employee concerns and how to prevent situations from becoming an issue, and fosters conversations about how to best address employee complaints.

Coaching Team Members to Win

Defines coaching. Identifies when to use coaching vs. performance management or improvement processes. Provides practice scenarios for promoting desired growth.

Recognizing and Rewarding Team Members

Establishes key considerations for rewarding employee or team performance or building a recognition program. Introduces key concepts of behavioral psychology to identify various reinforcement schedules, and generate actionable ideas to achieve the desired performance levels in alignment with the organization's culture.
